This overload protection device (motor protection) with rotary button works on the principle of a latching contactor. If the motor is overloaded, the integrated thermostatic bimetal elements are heated by the rise in current to the point where they trigger the latched contactor. The high switching capacity guarantees that the overloaded motor is switched off immediately. The release-free mechanism makes it impossible for the motor to be re-started immediately. This is a vital protection facility for the life of your motor. Where electronic brakes are used we recommend a 2-pole overload protection in conjunction with temperature monitoring by a thermistor in the motor.
