Release-free mechanism
Series K2000 and K3000 switches are equipped with release-free switchgears. This means that the machine cannot be started if a temperature sensor has responded. Series K100, K400, K400D, K590, K700 and K900 are normally switches mechanically. In this case the machine can be started but operation is impossible because the thermostat relay lies within the selfholding circuit of the power contactor. Circuit arrangements are also possible on request to prevent starting in these cases as well. If you want this arrangement, add "el" to the designation "Therm".
Designation for release-free mechanism: Therm-el
Functional description
The winding temperature is monitored directly by built-in-thermostat relay. If overloading occurs and the winding is heated to an unacceptable level, the thermistorss trigger the power contactor. Hence the motor is switched off immediately. Where release-free switching elements are used, the motor cannot be switched on again until these elements are reset automatically.
