Important information
- These frequency inverters are high-quality devices equipped with the latest technology and top features. The frequency inverters can be easily programmed for the desired applications via the control panel.
- Please note that connection and programming must only be performed by well-trained personnel.
- The manual must be read before connection and commissioning.
- All VDE and especially EMC regulations must be observed during connection.
Inverters with an EMC filter typically generate a higher leakage current to ground (earth). In applications where a fault shutdown can occur, the EMC filter can be disconnected by completely removing the EMC screw from the product.
Follow the procedure as shown (see also image under "Further Views and Drawings):
The Optidrive product range includes overvoltage protection components for the input supply voltage to protect the inverter against disturbance impulses from the supply voltage, which are typically caused by lightning strikes or switching operations of high-power devices on the same supply. With a HiPot test (Flash) in installations with inverters, the overvoltage protection components can cause the test to fail. To adapt this system type for the HiPot test, the overvoltage protection components can be disconnected by removing the VAR screw. After completing the HiPot test, the screw should be reinserted, and the HiPot test should be repeated. The test should then fail, indicating that the overvoltage protection components are again in the circuit.
