CEE plug connections and identification colors

CEE plug connections according to EN60309-2: 1992.

The requirement according to VDE0100 §6N that a plug cannot be inserted into a socket for a higher voltage is achieved by certain positions of the plug insert in the housing. These positions vary depending on the voltage, type of current, and frequency. The positions are defined in clockwise positions, which result from the position of the protective contact socket of the socket insert to the identification groove in the socket collar. If the socket is held so that the groove points to 6 o'clock, then the rated voltage of the socket can be determined from the position of the protective contact socket.

Vehicle colors.

If the operating voltage is indicated in addition to the prescribed markings by color codes, the color code should preferably be used according to the following table:

Color codes for operating voltages and frequencies.
